Demospongiae

Demospongiae
n. [Gr. demos, multitude; spongos, sponge]
A class of sponges composed of spongin fibers alone or together with siliceous spicules that are differentiated into megascleres (larger size) or microscleres (smaller size) of diverse shapes.
